About 4KProjectorPrices

4KProjectorPrices is an independent price-comparison site for 4K laser projectors sold on Amazon. It ranks listings by real price per 1000 lumens, not by sticker price, so a dim $800 projector doesn't get ranked as a "better deal" than a $2,000 projector that's actually twice as bright per dollar.

Why price per 1000 lumens, not price per listing

Two projectors at wildly different prices aren't a real comparison if one is meaningfully brighter than the other. Sorting by sticker price alone buries genuinely good deals under cheaper, dimmer projectors, and makes premium bright projectors look like bad value when they're not. Price per 1000 lumens normalizes for that, dividing each listing's price by its brightness (in thousands of lumens) so the ranking reflects what you're actually paying for light output, not just the number on the price tag. See ANSI vs. ISO lumens for why the brightness figure itself deserves a second look too, not just the price built on top of it.

Where the data comes from

Product listings, titles, ratings, images, and technical specifications come from Amazon's own product data. The brightness figure used for ranking is read directly from each listing's stated tech specs when available (its maximum white brightness or general brightness field), falling back to a figure parsed from the title text only when the specs don't state one, in which case it's flagged with a "~" prefix and a tooltip explaining it's estimated. Listings with no way to determine a brightness figure at all are shown without a computed price per unit, rather than guessed.

Every listing is also checked against Amazon's own category data and technical specs, not just its title, before being included at all, confirming it's actually a projector (not a TV or a screen), actually native or CTA-defined 4K resolution, and actually laser rather than lamp. Real listings turned up missing one signal or the other during review, so a listing only needs to pass the check in either place to count, see laser vs. lamp projectors for one concrete example of why that double-check mattered.

Data is refreshed on a weekly cadence, shown at the bottom of every page under "Product data last checked."

What 4KProjectorPrices doesn't do

4KProjectorPrices never displays a live Amazon price as "the current price." The computed price-per-unit figure is a ranking tool, not a price quote, since prices change often and this site isn't updated in real time. Every listing's "Check price on Amazon" button links straight to Amazon for current pricing and availability. 4KProjectorPrices is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon.
